So we arrived in San Ignacio after a long day of Chicken bus riding and we were worried that this place would be like Orange Walk.
However we began to suspect that things might be better as we headed south-west through Belize and the landscape changed from flat grassy plains to forests, hills, mountains, rivers amazing views.
We arrived in the town and it is lovely, with lots to do and see and very nice chilled out people.
We arrived in our new accommodation called J&R's House. This is basically a family home with some extra rooms, so we got yourself a very nice double room with ensuite (for a cost of about 12 pound a night inc breakfast) and was made very welcome by the owner and his family...this is much better than Orange Walk prison!
Off we went into town and had a few Bilikin Beers (the only beer in Belize) some nice 'Red Snapper' for dinner then crashed out after a long day.
The next day we visited an iguana project where they are trying to protect the endangered Green Iquana. The guide, Eddie, let us stroke his favourite iguana, Roxy. She started off blackish as she was sunbathing, but after some strokes she turned a beautiful green.
What we didnt expect was the guide to start covering us in little Iguanas, all over us and on our heads etc...was an interesting experience (and all day afterwards we were expecting a forgotten one to jump out of bags, pockets etc)
