So what can I say the March of the Penguins was so cool, a bit expensive but i think its that once in a life time thing, we went to Philip Island, just off the Melbourne coast.
The tour guide was a complete idiot, had no knowledge of the island at all, but we made the most of it. Saw a Kite Boarding competition, which looks so difficult, god i wish i could surf!
We also saw all the sites on the island, including Pizza on the Beach and followed by the Penguin Arena. You have never seen anything like this, they come in in groups of 10 from
their hard days fishing, and waddle up the beach to their homes...so cute. We were there for around 2 hours with Vicki, Agnus, Nicki, Lauren and Travis. All who were staying at
Base where we were. Was an amazing site, they are a lot smaller than i thought they'd be, around 33cm i think. Muppet - this is something you would have loved.
oooh fact for you - these penguins were blue and white, not black! Fascinating. I cooked Kangeroo for the girls the previous night - yum...
The morning dawned and Vicki lept out of the bottom bunk screaming - wooohooo its neighbours day! waking everyne up.
I know its sad but I was quite excited too...shhhh not a word. The official neighbours bus picked us up and we were on our way, first stop Erinsborough High, really a normal school
for non speaking English kids, but the guide had the sign and everything. Then it was onto the studio lot where we saw a character called Janelle - now honestly i havent watched it for at least 6 years but what the hell.
From there the finale, Ransay street, where normal people actually live! They shut it off when they are filming and the residence have to park their cars on another strett further down.
Pictures at Madges, The Kennedys, Toadies...it was like reliving my youth...so much fun!
Nicki and Lauren joined Viki and I for this one, which was cool and we met a cool Irish couple, who again I became very good friends with - laughing and joking.
Plus the bonus was, we got to see singers from Neighbours on the way there, and Jim Robinsons death episode, as well as Kylie and Jasons wedding
on the way back...PURE CHEESE!
From here we had to glitz ourselfs up for Neighbours night, a group of around 10 of us went and it was wicked, unfortunately we had Lyn and Boyd again! but we also met a new guy called Dillon, who was cool!
Then the main attraction, yes you know what I mean when I say Carl Kennedys band playing live! So pissed, the Irish and I went to the front and rocked away until he had finished. Plays all covers
but it was so wicked. And then we got to meet the legend afterwards...What a brilliant time in Melbourne.
Agnus and I leave tomorrow for Adelaide, via the Great Ocean Road..early start...5am. God help me!
