Ok so I just wrote a whole update on The Great Ocean Road and the 12 Apostles and it deleted it...I hate computers! So I am in a small town population 8, called Parachilna. Woke up this morning with the hangover from hell, being that I got back after meeting the legend Carl at 3am and had to get up at 6 for the bus...! We said goodbye to Vicki and Agnus and I were heading for the Great Ocean Road. First stop Bells Beach, where we got to see some of the pro Rip Curl Surfers in the water, was pretty cool, although visibility was crappy due to sea fog. It also was quite upsetting, I remember the movie Point Break where Patrick Swayzee (bad spelling) dies here...did they film it here? Did they my arse! Very upset.
Anyhow the drive was obviously just along the coast which was stunning, it looked more real than that of the East Coast. The sea looked more alive, if that makes any sense. The Views are spectacular, an amazing ride. We stopped off in a little town for lunch where I got chatting to an English guy and Girl Steve and Mary, who are pretty cool, and a french girl called Mary-Jane. Mary is actually on the same buses as Agnus and I all the way up to Darwin which is cool.
Next stop the 12 Apostles, something I had been looking forward to since Katie told me about them. I wasn't disappointed. They are gorgeous, especially at sunset with the red cloud lighting them up. Note book fact, there is not 12 of them but 8! Think the name has been around for a long while. Definitely a highlight though.
A good, but very long day that ended with me watching the OC and then a movie with the group. Tomorrow we head to the Grampians
