Darwin, well Darwin is stupidly hot. Mary, Agnas and I attempted to see the City on our own. So we headed for the Botanical Gardens, literally a fifteen minute walk from our hostel. Up early after a long unsuccessful, but comical night at the train tracks! We headed to the Flinders Range. This is a mountain range where tectonic plates have pushed the ground up and apart from one another, forming a crater surrounded by mountains. Absolutely gorgeous view from the top, which I nearly died climbing, the heat got up-to 39 degrees and it was only 10 am! We left Adelaide for the Flinders ranges just north of the City, we have been very lucky to have a group already formed, but the new guys seem cool. So day one we hiked a dry river which was really cool, like exploring the ancient site with gorges and natural remains.
