So we had to leave Coober Pedy…bummer! Such a good night though, this was the longest stretch on the bus, up-to Uluru (Ayres Rock). First stop the Northern Territory border. Found out something quite interesting here, the Northern territory is not a recognized State of Australia. Good quiz question there, it doesn’t have enough people to be called a State. Lior and I climbed the sign for pictures, was actually pretty high.
From here it was a long stretch to Uluru, and you’ll never guess what happened. The air-conditioning broke. 46 degrees outside and the air conditioning brakes. I have never sweated so much in my life. Not a happy bunny! We tried our hardest to keep everyone happy with bus dancing, which Princess Israel was the star as always. We have taught her so many colloquialisms now, it’s just funny to hear her say “unbubbable” when she means unbearable! She really is a great girl though, think Lior may be slightly in love with her, but hasn’t let me know yet! I have been invited to Israel again though! Bonus!
We got to our accommodation, and jumped straight in the pool, then headed to Uluru for the sunset. It really is a gorgeous place, champagne and the sunset at Uluru, life is so difficult sometimes! We slept outside in Swags which are literally a mattress with a sleeping cover over it. Good fun, got chatting to German Tanja that night and we have decided to travel on from Alice Springs to Darwin, then Broome and Perth together, she is really cool! Sleeping under the stars was again a great experience, and we got up at 3.45 am to see sunrise at Uluru and walk around it. Check the pictures out, seriously gorgeous. The Aboriginals ask that you don’t climb it as it is sacred to them, so we all respected that! The walk around was cool though, it’s absolutely huge, glimmering red in the sun. So onto the Olgas, another rock formation which Rachel called the sleeping Homer (Simpson that is) and it does look like him! The emptiness of this place and just these rock formations is incredible. Really a true wonder of the world. Again the heat was unbubbable! Still makes me laugh even now! And can you believe you get phone reception here! I have also noticed that I am using the word Dude and awesome so much it’s beyond a joke! Another night outside and then it’s off to Alice Springs. The night I will tell you about now, I was cornered by MJ snoring one side and Israel the other! We had Red back spiders in the toilet and snakes though the camp…Not the most pleasant night but an experience none the less! Adam and Lucy ended up sleeping in the Bus due to Adam yes Adams phobia of snakes!!!! Big Girl...says he who screms like a girl at any spider!
