Day 13 Friday 21st.
Pancakes for breakfast. Girls ginned around on their bikes until we set off on a 3-4 hour circuit walk around Kings Canyon Rim, in the Watarrka National Park.
Start of which, a steep climb, was similar to Duck reach but just stairs straight up! Matilda powered ahead and believe it or not I wasn't the slowest. Grace and Olivia, who were getting on ok today, literally pulled each other between sitting rests.
Well worth the climb. It was beautiful! The whole walk was stunning, abit like walking over the domes of the Olgas. Lots of sheer cliff faces which kept us on high alert with accident prone Matilda. James took us on a bit of a wild goose chase and subsequently bush bash to reach the sacred waterhole, in the Garden of Eden! No swimming allowed.
3 hours in 27 degrees, needless to say the girls had had enough. Back to the pool, (even JD got in) Thirsty Dingo and a shared pizza. Tried to catch up on some journal writing after the girls went Dingo spotting with the walki talkies and head torches then a late night movie and arguments about bed.
