Day 29 Sunday 6th August
Olivia- Adelaide River jumping croc cruise.
We nervously walk down the rickety bridge as Dominator (6.1 metres long, currently the biggest known crock in Australia) slowly swims towards the boat, looking for a snack and disappears in the mercky water. We step in the boat and find some seats. Captain Harry starts up the boat and drives up a bit and brings out his chunk of rancid buffalo, suddenly a crocodile appears and starts leaping for the meat. He finally gets it and we move along, two lady crocs are lazing in the mud, buffalo again, one slowly moves towards but watches the other one. It is much more bigger than she is so she decides to back off. We move along again and there before us lays Brutus on the bank then Harry brings out the buffalo stick. He swims towards it. Brutus is around 5.5 metres long and very fat. He lost his arm in a fight with a bull shark. Harry decides to bring him round to us on our side of the boat, he leaps and his massive head hits the side of the boat right in front of Dad, he is so terrified he does not speak. Brutus was so close you could smell his bad breath! Brutus is in his 90's and has no teeth left cause he eats too much pig and buffalo bones! We move forward a little bit and see a little baby croc on the muddy bank it is trying to get warm. Fang was in his 80, he had mouldy teeth, because he'd warmed up he jumped about 5 meters out of the water. We head back on the way we see a crocodile nest the crocodile lays about 50 eggs in the nest and doesn't use it again.
The biggest crocodile recorded in Australia was 9.5 meters was shot by a lady off the verandah of a pub! We head to the jetty and leave. As we head to the springs we go and check out Fogg Dam ( no way we were getting out of the van) on the way back a car came so Dad pulls over on a little bit of gravel the car drives forwards and hits the side of our van, just a little mark but we'll be right. Then we headed to Berry Springs. We arrive in Berry Springs and get a mango pop real frozen mango. We walk to the water fall it is beautiful but no one wants to go swimming because last week there was a massive crocodile in it. (Which was shot! Only just reopened for swimming) We walk down to the lower springs but we are not allowed to swim in it because it is too deep and they got the crocodile out of that airier(area). We head back to the van and have a zooper dooper and did a little bit of a drive around Berry Springs nothing much to see. We head back to the caravan park and decide it is a dump so we leave (despite having paid for the night!) and go to Batchelor Holiday Park, much nicer than BS (near Litchfield National Park) and watch the bird feeding all different birds rosella cockatoo...
Spag Bol for tea, then we went to bed. :)

Marguerite I think I have heard that if you go into the Adelaide River you have 100% chance of being eaten by a croc!!!
