Day 21 Saturday 29th
.
Our lowest point by far has been reached, maybe this blog post is best avoided by school or grandparents!
.
Grace woke up possessed by the devil and needless to say, after terrorising everyone, it didn't take long before she and James had serious words!
.
Old mate next door got up early as the campers left with his metal detector! Human seagull!
.
We got on the road with tears all round!
.
Drove 110kms to Katherine. We thought a couple more camp chairs might be appreciated by the smalls and went to the hardware store to get some.
.
Went to get back in and put the chairs away but the key to the back of the van wouldn't work! Busted Lock!
.
We checked into the Big 4. They have 44 acres of really lovely grounds and yet they pack the vans and campers in like sardines at the back of the grounds!
.
We squished in between two vans, one of which had a couple of old smoking alcoholics, who had tinnys for breakfast and got up in the middle of the night to have a smoke! Friendly enough and they probably enjoyed having someone to watch and talk about as thet didn't move or talk and stayed put for 3 days!
.
JD had to dismantle the Webber cupboard and send Matilda up through the seat (thank god I'd made the bed back into a couch!) to try to open the door from the inside! Couldn't! Olivia went next. Still no luck! James finally had to squeeze himself through the cupboard and dismantled the whole lot from the inside to get it open! He spent the next hour of so fixing the door/locks. Thankfully he'd packed tools to be able to sort it!
.
The girls were doing a lot of fighting.....there's a Beautiful big pool! WHY DONT YOU GO USE IT?!?!?
.
Girls riding their bikes round with another girl their age.
"Put your helmet on! No!"
.
Went to the Fig Tree bistro by the pool for tea. Finally settled down at dinner table, more fighting and whinging from everyone, told them to go play till dinner was ready and soon after we hear Grace yell "Stop! Matilda stop!"
By the second 'stop,!' I was in birds eye view of helmet-less Matilda driving straight in front of a 4WD! Thank God they saw her cause it was dark and an incredibly close call.
Needless to say she got a smack on the leg we had more cross words this time in public viewing of everyone. FFS!, can't you all just behave!
.
We managed to eat and get back to the van safely. Had a game of pictionary. Best part about today was talking to Dad and Judith in the UK. Glad when the day was over!
