JD - Daly Waters Pub
Arrived at Daly Waters pub well after gin o'clock, the place was packed. Parked in the overflow camp ground, dirt and dust not much else. Hot as bugary. Thongs much to my disgust are on, I've had to shelf the bluestones next I'll be wearing tracksuit bottoms.......I doubt it! The pub was a ripper! Beer was super cold, steaks were cooked "just right" unfortunately for Nicole Thai fish cakes were all sold out. Undies and bras adorned the rafters not sure why it but why not! ........glad the current female patrons kept theirs on tonight as they had mostly been on good pastures and cast a large shadow.
Daly Waters the township is basically the pub and the associated buildings to support it. It served as a stop off for travellers to Alice in the mid 1900's and was a rear guard in WWII. I'm guessing now some businessman is making a fortune out of tourism! Good luck to him. Great for the night but didn't warrant a second night for us.
