Hello People
Just to update you. We have conquered Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. I swam with the greatest turtle for about an hour...I was mesmerised! Took far too many photos haha! tried diving but couldn't get the concept of blowing throw my nose to clear my goggles, but was fine at the breathing but couldn't equalise my ears, so didn't rick going deeper than 2 meters haha...Elaine did it she had a great time and got some cool photos.
We have arrived in Airlie Beach which is like Falaraki!!! Its just party, party!!! So can't wait to do some more trips!
We have just come from a beautiful Island called Magnetic Island (a bumpy ferry ride from Townsville) where the croc's live with the koala's! Our ferry journey was like being on a ride at Alton Towers and like idiots we sat at the very front...I actually thought was going to have to swim back to shore! Thena little boy chucked up everywhere, which made me gip like a goodun!!! Hahaha I'm a wuss I know...I wasn't sick though!
We stayed at a place called Base which was a huge campsite (with hut dorms) on the beach. We shared our room with 6 Army lads who were all gentleman! Really! We had a great time there. What a laugh...espescially when a mysterious burger appeared on one of our beds and was then stood on! Long story can't tell it over email hahaha!
Magnetic Island was a bit like the caribbean, as in there were no street lights, laid back life style and great scenic views.
We were suppose to snorkel but there was a croc roaming the waters so we couldn't go in the sea! Gutted. Everyone was renting out Moke's they looked so funny but we need to save our money for our next trips to Whitsunday Islands and Fraser Island further down the East Coast.
We went for a walk around Townsville (where all the army's families live a bit like a stepford wives village, but not scary!) whilst waiting for our Greyhound coach our cheap and easy transport. What a great regemented place. We walked along The Strand where exercise points were strategically placed along the sea front; i.e. a bench for knee sit ups, steps for climbing, press up places etc I hope you get the picture. They also have Lagoons everywhere which are great lengthed outdoor pools, with benches and tables, and BBQ spots and communal cooking areas for FREE! Even better than Bolton Abbey!
We are going sailing around the Whitsunday Islands on Thursday until Saturday then we make our way down to 1770 where we are going to ride Harley's in a 50 people convoy haha can't wait. Then from there we will go to Hervey Bay to go across to Fraser Island in a 12 seater 4x4 self drive...Adventurous eh! But bloody expensive!!!
Anyway hope you are all well! I'm having a blast as you can see, I'm just sick of taking stupid photos so now I have made a packed to get as many photos in lockers, bed draws, in stupid hats that people actually buy and wear over here!!!
Will try and put more pics on from the Breat Barrier Reef when i find a decent computer.
Take care miss you all
PS can't you all move over here its great!!!! PLEASE?
