Hi All...
Well we have finally arrived in Hervey Bay after a 13 hour bus journey which was hell, to say the least!!! We definately underestimated how big this place is!!! But yet the population is only 13 million apparently!
We have had an absolute ball in Airlie Beach. We went to the Whitsundays Island sailing for 2 nights and three days, thanks to good old Tesco's sickness tablets I didn't hurl once! The islands we saw were phenomenal especially Whitehaven Beach, which was what I imagine heaven to be like! The sand was so soft, and the water was bluer than Elaines' eyes. The Samurai boat we sailed on was small and but cosy and the food wa great! I'm actually thinking of coming back to Airlie to get a job as a chef on a boat, I loved it.
There are over 175 islands in the south pacific ocean, madness and most are uninhabited. Whitehaven Beach was a National Park which is lucky because I would have stayed there forever!
I am now a professional snorkeler haha and turtles always seem to be wherever I swim, which is an amazing feeling swimming with a huge creature from the ocean!
We arrived back into Airlie Beach Sunday night in order to leave for 1770 to ride choppa's but ended up meeting really cool Yorkshire lads in our dorm so we decided to skip 1770 and stay in Airlie for a few extra days before coming to Hervey Bay where we start our Fraser Island tour. Leeds, York, and Doncaster lads are mental, I've never played so many funny drinking games in my life! So be prepared when I come back I'm having a party!
Anyway I will let you know what Fraser Island is like we've heard so many great things, so I'm very excited.
Take care all and hope the weather picks up! If its any consolation it not boiling here yet!!! LOL
