Left home in Acton at around 5am to catch the tube out to Heathrow with Dean and Caitlin. Had quite an uneventful flight down to Cairo via Istanbul, flew over some very sparse snow covered areas in what I assume was Bulgaria.

Arrived to Cairo, got the tourist visa then made our way through customs. After a little mix up we met the Expat rep and were transfered to the airport. Met our guide Waec and then eventually dropped my stuff off in the same room as Petrina, after they tried to give me a room that two people were already in.

Went for a walk and had a uninspiring dinner at Hardees.
