From Nhill we stopped in Horsham at Conway's Pies for brunch. We then stopped in Caroline Springs for petrol and thought to ourselves as we got to the Warrigal Rd exit on the South Eastern should we just get off now and head home. But no we continued onto Glenmaggie arriving there at about 5.30pm.
Over the weekend there were a few punters staying at the two houses - Pat and Gary's and Nancy and Gordon's - including all the Jackson's, Sean and Annabelle, Mum, Reits, Perry and the kids and some of Nancy's friends, Deanna, Tim and Cara.
The weather was good and the days were spent sitting by the lake, having a go on the jetski and also jumping in the boat. Evenings were spent eating, drinking, playing Wii, playing cards and also a handful played Risk, which David won in his first game.
Monday Uncle Gary took David, Kate and I on a 4WD trek to Hickeys Creek Track. It was quite hairy at times especially the way back down. The view at the top was pretty good. After a year of travelling David and I are both in agreement that Glenmaggie and the surrounding area are one of the better spots in the country.
Everyone headed home on Monday. The weather was getting warmer as the week went on so David and I having to be home by Saturday 31st January at the latest, decided to stay at Nancy and Gordon's as they have air conditioning and Mum doesn't.
We spent the next few days going into Heyfield for supplies and to use the internet at the library, swimming, reading, playing on the Wii, watching tennis and cricket. It was very hot. Too hot to sit by the river so we'd just walk down to the lake for a swim when we felt like one.
We left Glenmaggie Friday afternoon. Arriving at Mum's at 9.27 pm after being on the road for 53 weeks and one day and 37,200kms. It's good to be home.
