Dan and Lu's Travels
Had a lazy day, we ate at various places. Tried Pho Bo, which is the main dish in Vietnam (beef noodle soup). Pretty good.
Went to a mexican style bar where the music was WIERD. It was literally on a loop with Straverry Fair by Simon and Garfunkel, Hello by Lionel Richie, My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, a random Spanish sounding song they play everywhere and that song from the Bisto advert years ago ("sometimes the sun goes round the moon, sometimes the snow come down in june.") So strange.
Awful, awful bus journey up to Hoi An. We got on at 7pm and rode around picking people up for 40 minutes then the guy in front of me promptly put his seat back as far as it would go. Then these two Vietnamese guys started talkimg really loud for about 2 hours, until someone shouted at them. 11 hours.
The lanscape looked mountainous from what I could see, it was dark, and I'm glad it was as we seemed to be climbing higher and hogher up a mountain, on the side you could fall off. There was lots of traffic; trucks and other buses. Pretty scary so I'm glad it was dark. Arrived at Hoi An and 6am.
