Dan and Claire go worldwide
From Koh Phagnan, we hoped across to the next island, the beautiful Koh Tao. Koh Tao was a much smaller, quieter little island, but really beautiful. It had cosy little bars on the beach, lovely friendly people, and a lovely atmosphere. The only problem that we encountered was the monstorous mosquitoes that inhabit the island...they are beasts!! They are so big, and we spent the nights curled up in a fortress made from our one-man mosquito net trying to hide from them!!
We headed to Koh Tao mainly to do some scuba diving, which we had been really looking forward to. We put it off in OZ as it was so expensive, and waited until we got here, and it was so worth the wait!! We did our open water PADI course over four days, and passed with flying colours, so we are now both qualified Open Water divers!! Yay!! But dont worry, were not going to be jumping in and going off diving by ourselves just yet... :)
Over the for days we obviously did the education bit, plus a confined dive learning skills, and our four main dives at various sites. We saw loads of different fish (including nemo and baby nemos!!), puffer fish, sea snakes, eels, beautiful coral, plus lots lots more. We saw a huge turtle however, which was one of our highlights, it was so sweet, with little fish following him!! aahh!! Sadly we saw no sharks though. We had a fabulous time, and really enjoyed it even after a few nerves from me at the beginning. We loved it so much that we were so sad to leave, and wanted to go diving again straight away. Its something that we will definetly be doing again before we leave.
