This is a picture of our tour guide Lao. She is 16 and as you can see she is tiny although she is one of the tallest girls in her village. We were taken on a hike today to 3 villages. We stopped at her village of Lao Chai after kilometers of trekking through the jungle to a beautiful lunch and a taste of village life. We have trekked about 8k's all up and have come back very muddy and tired but amazed by the experience. The Hmong were lovely once we worked out how to stop them trying to sell us stuff. Guess like everything you learn as you go.
They are all very fit from walking everywhere in gumboots. They wear their tradition clothes with different colors for different tribes and they are very stylish. They have perfect skin and perfect teeth. They are really a stunning race.
We got our shoes cleaned and jumped on our bus for the drive back down the mountain to Lao Cai to wait for our train back to Hanoi. We would love to of had more time in Sapa but too much more to do. It rained and was misty the whole time but that just added to the magic of the place. Shame we missed out on the stunning views though.
Can't believe our time in Asia is nearly over.
