After a pretty warm & restless sleep we woke early & packed then got down to the train station to hopefully buy our tickets. Success! We were booked on the 9.40am to get out of Ayutthaya & were pretty happy. We headed to one of the street vendors across from the station for breakfast then back to the platform to wait. When it arrived it was mostly westerners that piled on. It was comfy enough & a perfect temperature. We were given food & drinks included in our ticket but it was pretty average food. I didn't eat much of it though as I was pretty sick. We actually think it's the anti malaria pills that are doing it but it could also be the food. I had to use one of the squat toilets on the train & the cleanliness & the rocking of the train made it one of the lower points in my life. The only thing worse than being sick, was being sick in that toilet. Anyhow we got to see some beautiful countryside & jungle. We went through a few towns & villages & noticed a pack of monkeys roaming down the street in one. We both managed to get some sleep but about 1pm we were woken by the guard telling everyone to get off as the train in front of us had derailed. From there we boarded these big double decker buses to take us the next 6 hours to our destination. It was nowhere near as comfortable as the train but it did get us in an hour earlier. Jac sent the trip reading whilst I watched a movie or 2 to fill in the time. Arriving at 7.30pm we haggled with a Tuk Tuk & managed to get a price to our hotel. The place is a big step up from last night, both accommodation & the town. It has a nice feel to it we wandered to an area 5 mins away & grabbed some street food before returning to our lodgings for a decent nights sleep. The air here is a lot cooler too, well at night anyway. Hopefully that translates to the day a little.
