Lets take this gig global!!
Well heya guys! Im writing this in real good spirits as for one, Im having the time of my life right now and secondly, the World Cup starts today! Wahey, bring it on!!!
Well I moved on from Rainbow beach on Monday night after some emotional goodbyes to Team Fraser and arrived in Agnes Water at 12:30am! Only to be randomly picked up by some old dude called Rod! Was a little sceptical at first but it all turned out for the best in the end. After spending the first night in 1770 Backpackers, first thing Tuesday morning I moved into Cool Bananas which is by far the best place I have ever stayed in!! So funky, friendly and immacualtely clean! I just love it.
The town is really nice aswell and very very local. Agnes water is a little bigger but the neighbouring 1770 (where Captian James Cook first landed in Queensland) has a population of just 80 people!! So its nice to escape the usual backpacker crowds and just relax. Theres nothing at all comercial here and thats why I love it. The fact that everyting is locally run means that everything is pretty damn cheap too!!
All the tours and things to do here are an absolute bargain, scooter tours for $30, sunset kayaking for just $25 and check this, a 40 min plane ride acorss the coast and ranges with just you and the pilot for an incredible $50!! Sweet as! Its gonna keep me busy fort the next few days anyways.
I did the Scooteroo thing on my first full day here which was a great laugh. You get little choppers (kinda mini Harleys!) and cruise around for a few hours beiong shown all the local area and wildlife. We saw wild Roos, a brown snake (highly poisonous!), cane toads, pelicans and some kokaburas! After ridinmg around for as few hours in a Hells Angels like convoy we stopped off at the local bar called the Tree for wedges and sweet chili sauce before relaxing on the rocks to watch the sunset roll on down! An awesome few hours for just over 12 quid!! Canne beat it man!
Since then I've just been fully chilling and playing a bit of frisbie and football and gonna check out the beach today and try and get some surf in. Its a really beautiful little place here and Im absolutely loving it!
I'll let you know how all my activities go in a few days but for now, all the best.
Come on the boys, Sooooo pumped for the Cup now!! Lets bring it home!
