Well hello my fellow followers!
We eventually managed to experience our first hostel while down in Bunbury! The 'Wander Inn', It was colourful, vibrant and great fun. We were staying in a ten bed mixed dorm, we had bunk beds which made me and Daniel feel about five years old! Unfortunately there was no aircon so we had what we nicknamed; 'The Hair-dryer' blowing hot air on us all night! :)
It was great to meet some travellers like ourselves. We became very good friends with a German girl called Millie who we are hoping to meet up with on our future travels around australia! At the hostel we encountered numerous events in which we could experience, like the movie night, karaoke night, pizza night and many more!
So this was the start of travelling, we were thinking of relocating camper vans, hitch-hiking or walking (just kidding!) While we were pondering on the many notice boards we came across a poster for 'Work and Travel OZ', on an off chance of being incredibly bored we got on the website and put in an application to become a part of the team. A day later we got an email saying our applications were great and we would be getting a phone call interview and we spoke to the manager of the company, Duncan!! Duncan is awesome, laid back, modest and so generous, he explained that if we got ourselves up to Karratha (North West) we could start our training straight away and that would be that!!
Pondering the idea, me and dan were excited about the prospect of TRAVELLING! The job was raising money for charity, getting paid stupidly good money as well as going for a road trip around Oz for cheaper than what we normally would have had to pay! So the next day we booked a plane to fly to Karratha that weekend coming!
However with our new destination in site we had to say goodbye to the awesome time we had in Perth and Bunbury. Staying with Daniels aunty and uncle and cousin was brilliant, they saved us 'heaps' loads of money, taught us about the Australian ways of life and also gave us so much guidance and support. Without them we would of been in a bit of a mess when we arrived in Aus!
So before we said goodbye we spent one last family outing to the 'Blues and Roots' music festival, which was great. Awesome music, atmosphere and weather! It was such a nice experience to say goodbye to Perth from. So we left.
We flew all the way to Karratha, even tho we were on the plane for only 2 hours we got breakfast! I was really shocked hee :) We got to Karratha and it was a humongous shock to say the least. We got off the plane, to step onto a red desert! The 'Travel OZ' people were already at the baggage section waiting for us, they took us straight to the shopping mall to start our training.
We are raising money for 'Doctors Without Borders' and are in Karratha for just one more week before heading up north a couple hours to Port Hedland, then to Broome, Darwin, Alice Springs and Cairns. Money is good and when we have signed up 20 people we will have our flight money reimbursed (we have already signed up about 10 people each) :)
So watch this space as we will try and get some pics of the red desert and us in our trendy/cool work uniforms.
Ciao for now amigo's.
Take care of yourselves,
Fay & Daniel

Corinne Hi, your Mum has signposted me to your Blog - seems you both are having an amazing time and you will get to see some parts of Australia most never get to. I lived in Darwin for about 8 years - that's where I started working in the Casino's. Check out Cable beach in Broome and the Mindil Beach markets in Darwin for fabulous Thai and Indonesian food. I'm in Brisbane at the moment - flying back on 24th April. Looking forward to keeping up with your travels xx
