Hola People!!! Finally managed to find a computer...for those of you that know, it's 2 days to long. Haven't got a lot of time so here goes...

Left for the airport on Monday but had a very exciting/pain in the backside day to say the least. Started packing quite early in the morning (Should have really given myself more time but c'est la vie) Anyway, long story short my bank card decided to go walkies & given the fact that i was relying on that card to fund my trip, i wasn't best pleased. After giving up searching after 2hrs (and 1hr before i needed to leave for the airport) i rememberd that i had another card...Voila! Then i rememberd that i blocked the card 2 weeks ago because i forgot my pin. So i had to go into town but managed to get everything sorted

The parentals and Ryan dropped me off at the airport, Harry & Sarah met us there. It was emotional, although Steve's mum cried more, so not too happy about that, or the fact Ryan trying to nick more of my clothes!

Day 1 - The flight was really good (11hr 20mins) Met a lovely couple from New Zealand called Jill and Mike. They had just been touring for 13 weeks around Europe in thier Austin Healy. They were really nice and invited us to stay with them in Melbourne :) They said they would be able to take us to some winearies and a cricket match at the MCG, we should also be there for the Australian Tennis Open.

We arrived at our 4* Hotel :) at 15:30pm. The woman at reception was really nice, i think Steve and I, with our witty charm and dashing good looks won her over as she gave us a room upgrade (That's how we do!) We unpacked and then headed for tsim sha tsui to catch the light show. Hong Kong skyline is amazing, it's soooo humid though. We headed for the main strip looking for some Mooschu (Rush Hour lol) but were stopped by a guy promising us suits for 100 pounds so we followed him. We went into the shop and he closed the door and the 'tailor' tried to fit us so we would buy the suits. Me and Steve played along for 5 mins & gave him the old 'sounds good, we'll come back tomorrow' but he wasn't really having it and his mate was standing by the door. After another 5 mins of back and forth, we left the store thinking they were gonna try and jump us BUT on reflection, Steve was a good 4ft taller than them, so we could of had em! Finally found a place to eat, it didn't look like much (Think Mr Wu's, China town london) but OMG the soup noodles were amazing.

Day 2 - We decided to get the Star Ferry over to Hong Kong island, it'spretty cool and only 60p. We got to the other side and the rope snapped, the workers face was a picture. We took the escaltors (they're famous apparently) half way up the mountain, only to find that they didn't really lead to anywhere and had to walk all the way back down! Found a really cool cafe that was packed with the locals, so decided 'when in rome' So glad we did, another impeccable choice by Mr North. We tried to order Hot & Sour soup with Shredded Pork (Sounds Good right?!) but given the fact Steve & I aren't fluent in Chinese, we ordered some random dish. It turned out to be a winner but had one ingredient we weren't sure of. I took a mouthful and tried it but it didn't really taste of anything...Turned out it was stomach lining haha. Took the underground back to the hotel and i discovered the hotels swimming pool and steam room (Who say's backpackers have to slum it) so chilled out for a bit and then we went back to tsim sha tsui for Fried Noodles with Chicken & Scallops in Oyster Sauce. We're gonna be doing the cultural thing tomorrow and moving into a Hostel (me thinks its gonna be a shock for the system) so i'll keep you updated. Loving you guys loads, Daley xxx

Day 3 - So Steve and I thought it would be cool to visit the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery as it was just around the corner from our hotel. We followed the signs and found the entrance, so climbed the steps. We spent around 45mins taking pics and climbing to the top, hoping to see golden buddha's. We got about half way up but it was blocked, so we thought they must be renovating, so decided to head back down. We got to the bottom and spotted a few golden budda's through the trees, turned out that we had just been gallivanting around a cemetery for nearly hour...The Ten Thousand Buddha's were next door!!! After getting over the shock of posing for pics on land of the dead, we started the climb the never-ending staircase and a gang of monkey's started to follow us (Ok, perhaps I'm slightly exaggerating, there were only 3 BUT i decided to skip my Hep B & Rabies Jab, so was bricking it) We gave them the slip and had a few poses with the Budda's on the way to the top. Just before we got the the top, a stray dog looked me right in the eye and came towards us. Me being the caring human being that i am, thought it would be better to run rather than go Bruce Lee on it's backside, once we got to the top, there were a few locals chuckling to themselves at the sight of 2 6ft+ guys running from a lil dog. We finally reached the top having felt like doing 24 rounds with Mike Tyson in a steam room (The weather is on the verge of being unbearable) but the view was definitely worth it. After the Buddah's, we had to check-out of the hotel and move into our Hostel :-( The hostel is Li's Hostel on Nathan road in tsim sha tsui Now i'm normally used to livin it up, so this is a bitter pill to swallow BUT it actually isn't that bad. The room is a size of a postage stamp and you practically have to sit on the toilet to have a shower but it's clean & its in a really good location. We dropped our bags off and caught the star ferry across to Hong Kong Island, so we could get the tram up to 'the view' The tram itself is really cool, very steep. The View from 'The View' is breathtaking, we didn't have perfect weather (slightly cloudy) but it had that 'wow' factor. We got talking to a Canadian (Sean), German (Stefan) & Irishman (Alan) (There's definitely a joke there somewhere) who were waiting for the light show that starts around 8pm. The lights started but for some reason, no lasers, Stefan started to get quite annoyed and kept asking 'Where are the laaaayyyyyyyssssshuuuuurrrreess' Think Dr Evil in Austin Powers haha, Steve and I couldn't stop laughing! The light show was a bit disappointing but we headed down to Hong Kong with our new Friends for a few drinks. We found this Funky bar with a life band and had few beers, Stefan/Dr Evil had to leave because he was flying the next day, so myself, Steve, Sean and Alan decided to have a wander and bumped into Elvis Chaminda (Asian Dude who had hair and sideburns like Elvis) We went into another bar,Sean got talking to the manager and he got us a table right at the back, in front of the dance floor (That's how we roll) The music was a bit cheesy but the place was good. There were a quite a few business types giving it the large trying to impress the women but they were more interested in us 4 (Wearing Flip flops and shorts lol) Sean thought it would be a great idea to open up a bar tab, so we had a few beers, couple of tequila's and jagermeister...Although Alan couldn't keep his shot's down and kept running to the toilet to chuck up! The DJ played a bit of MJ and Double D's dancing shoe's came out, Couple of Chinese girls (I think) came over and started dancing, one of them (Candy) told me that it was her birthday and she loved me (I guess that's the effect i have on the ladies ;-) ) The night was coming to an end and settled the bill (36 Quid each!!!! I budgeted for 20 Pound a day!!!) Steve and I partied a little too hard and missed the last ferry home, so stumbled into a taxi for an expensive lift home. We had a barney with the driver as he tried to stich us up with the fare but he came round to our way of thinking in the end. Can't even remember getting into the Hostel but Schuie informs me that i was very talkative lol.
