Day 5 - Set the alarm for 08:00am but the snooze button was too good to resist, so finally got washed and dressed around 09:00am. As always, food was on the brain, so Steve and I followed our noses to this little gem of a place to have Dim Sum for breakfast (No, it's never too early for Dim Sum) After another world class meal, we headed across to Hong Kong Island on the Star Ferry, then another Ferry to Lantau Island (Mui Wo) When then hopped on a bus which took us up a few windy roads to the Tian Tan Buddha. We had some fantastic views on route but taking a pic was near impossible... to use a Barbadian term, the driver was well and truely 'Mashing the Gas'!

The previous night, i told Steve that i planned on using my time wisely and wanted to buy a rubix cube! We reached the Big Buddha and in the 1st stall...you guessed it...a rubix cube (Destiny!) I duely purchased & will keep you guys update on my progress. The Buddha was quiet impressive, we posed for the obligatory photos...'Goodby from England' T-Shirt made an appearance (Cheers CCC Crew) and then we made our way to the top. Now dont get me wrong, the Big Buddha is cool but Steve and I felt a lil cheated when we found out that it was only built in 1993. The only way we could overcome this disappointment was food, so we treated our self to a chinse dessert called Taro Sargo (Bit like Blamange)

With our Sugar levels back to normal, we headed towards the path of enlightenment. It was actually really cool and we found ourselves pondering about many different things (Why is Beef called Beef and not Cow amonst other things) After topping up our fountain of knowledge, we headed down to Ngong Pong to catch the 360 Cable and caught a really good view of...the airport. All joking aside, the view was awesome and we managed to take a few decent snaps of the surrounding area. The Cable car stopped at Hong Kong airport and we took a 45 min bus ride to a little fishing village called Tai O (Also, bizarrely, saw a man walking around in high heels). We both agreed it was a really good choice to visit but a completely humbling experience. The house's were made out of tin or corrugated iron with not much shelter. The locals were either working the stalls (Selling fresh fish :-) ) providing boating trips or talking in groups...such a simple way of living. Would love to be extremely deep and tell you that I'd like that life, without today's many distractions BUT aint gonna happen...apparently I'm a technology/facebook hoe and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

We caught the Ferry to back Hong Kong Island and headed for SOHO. We decided eat at a Spanish place called Taco Loco. BBQ Pork Quessadilla's was the choice with a glass of Sangria :) When then headed to a bar to catch the Liverpool - Stoke Game (Bore Draw but 2 clean sheets for my fantasy footie players to send me top of the league!) Although it was a Sat night, we'd had a long day and weren't really dressed for clubbing, so decided to call it a night.
