Hello again,

We travelled in Thailand style in VIP class on the bus journey to Khon Kaen where we met up with Martin and Warin, whose family live there. They took us to see the king cobra village where crazy men box snakes and dodge their strikes, as well as dancing with them and putting the snake heads in their mouths...it was a bit odd! We went to pretty restaurant on the edge of a sunkissed lake where Warin ordered us a huge feast of fish, pork and spicy thai salads. That evening we went to a local street market selling freshly cooked thai food, as you might imagine Martin was in his element ;) The food all looked so good and we bought more than we should have considering the big lunch we had. We ate more amazing fish with chicken and a 50 chilli salad.

The next day we met Warins family at a buddhist monastery where they offered the monks food and medicine and released some fish into the monasteries lake as an offering to Buddha. In the afternoon we went for a thai massage, which was very relaxing but a bit more intimate than we were expecting!! As a farewell dinner we bought fresh prawns caught that morning, they were barbecued alive and were delicious!

We had a lovely time and would like to thank Martin and especially Warin and her family for showing us their culture and for being so hospitable.
