Hello again,

Chiang Mai is a small old town with lots of temples, which we spent the first day looking around. We were lucky to arrive on a sunday as there was a huge night market spanning the main street through the centre of the city.

Chiang Mai's main draw is its possibilities for day trips and treks. We booked onto an elephant Mahout course and spent the day feeding and looking after elephants. We got to ride on the elephants through the jungle for several hours, stopping at a waterfall to bathe them. The day was really good but riding bareback on an elephant for most of the day ruined Dale's bum! There was a really cute baby elephant there and he loved his bananas and rolling around in the waterfall.
