Danny's Summer '06 Study Abroad
We got to sleep a little longer today (we had to be ready at 9:15) then we headed out to Musee Rodin. He made the famous "Thinker" and "Gates of Hell", which has many sculptures on it like the Thinker and others that were out in the courtyard of the museum. I walked around w/ 3 other people and we would take pictures imitating the sculptures. Then we went to the D'Orsay and saw famous impressionist paintings like Van Gough and Seurat (wavy lines and dots). After that the same crew that hung out yesterday went to the Grande and Petite Palais (gorgeous). I saw this from the river cruise and had to go back there to take pictures. Then we went to the Jardin de Luxemburg and sat around to get off our feet and drank some nice 2 Euro bottles of wine, and I went to sleep laying in the grass. After that we grabbed a bite to eat (I had my first crepe of the trip) and met up w/ our group to go to our first concert, which was Jazz. I took another nice little nap during it and luckily we were able to leave after the first set (but we had to pay 20 E to get in). Then a few of us stayed around the area to grab another bite (2nd crepe) and we headed back. Me and another guy (one of Nick's fraternity brothers) went to the stop past ours (La Defense) to check it out at night. We went inside the mall, which was so cool b/c it looked all futuristic and contemporary. We then walked back admiring the modern architecture from the night perspective.
