MONTECETINI

Left Nice this morning and after a short drive stopped in Monaco where we goggled at the crystal clear ocean, the luxurious homes and the unreal boats! Hard to believe we actually visited the place let alone walk the streets!
From there we hit the highway and headed for Pisa, along a magnificent freeway and through over and one hundred sixty tunnels! The tunnels ranged from a few metres to over a kilometre long, saving all the twists and turns a normal road would have!
Once away from the magnificent coastal scenes, we passed through some typical old car
Italian farming land, with olive groves, vines and even a few crops!
Pisa was a total shock! We turned off the freeway and after a couple of kilometres through farmland, we arrived at a huge car park and got off the coach only to be bombarded by dozens of hawkers selling anything from umbrellas to statues! It was stinking hot as we caught a little shuttle bus to another car park and after rounding a corner there was the Tower in all it's glory!
The crowds were huge but it was quite easy to get some great photos of the beautiful buildings! The Leaning Tower was just as fantastic in real life as in the photos! All clean and in great condition!
We spent a while there and then got to our night stop at Montecetini! The hotel was good and we had dinner there.
