Leaving San Sebastian today, I had to walk to the bus in the rain which was the first time in the last five months of travel. Looks like winter is coming to Europe, no more sunny beach days and 40 degree temperatures. I'll miss it, and my tan. I'm heading to Paris today and then into eastern Europe heading for Munich and the famous Octoberfest festival! I'm so excited and can't wait to see some beautiful landscapes and green rolling hills.
I am sad to leave San Sebastian and I hope the promise and opportunities that presented themselves there are still available when I return in mid October. In the last few months I've secured myself a few positions to do some work in hostels all over Europe; in Portugal, Spain, canary islands and turkey! I'm very lucky but now have the tough job of trying to figure out which one I want most. There's a lot to consider but I love the feel of San Sebastian... So fingers crossed it all works out.
My last few days in San seb we great, I spent time with sasha, Charlie and Matt some Aussie boys and a new addition Megan. We had lots of fun exploring the city. One of the nights we went for a hike up to the jesus statue with some Callimacho and sangria. It was a hilarious night, we had lots of fun and I ended up heading back early to bed while the rest of the group hit the clubs. I didn't have any big nights out in San Sebastian really. There was a lot of causal drinking but I really took the time to relax and chill out for a while. I think I'll need all the preparation I can get for Oktoberfest.
Today's bus ride is a massive 12 hour long day! I've got lots to keep me occupied; with my journal, books to read, music, movies and of coarse the amazing view out the window. Europe truly is beautiful. Tonight will be interesting too, my bookings have been screwed up in Paris so I'm without accommodation and I've had to change around buses so I'm only in paris for a night, everything sorts itself out though. Hopefully I'll get out tonight to see the Eifle tower I'm really excited to see it, especially at night.
