I'm in the beautiful Nice! This is a very pretty city on a gorgeous coast with turquoise water! I love it here. I wasn't expecting Nice to be as it is, it has big old traditional buildings, nice green parks, it's very clean, it has classy restaurants and nice bars. It would be a good city to live in!
Since I have been here I've been to lots of the famously rich areas. They are the places the rich go to play. We took a day trip to Saint Tropez, it's a little town where it cost a fortune to do anything! The harbor is lined with multi million dollar yaughts, the streets are lined with Ferraries and all the shops are expensive designer labels. We took a ferry over to saint tropez and cruised past all the famous people holiday homes! They were very impressive. The whole way there we had free alcohol on the boat! It made the trip a little more interesting! When we had to hop off we filled our water bottles with punch for the walk around, it was funny that we were walking around drinking cheap punch from a plastic bottle and the people beside us were purchasing $2000 bottles of champagne!
The next day we went to Monoco, this is on the French Rivera and is very exclusive! It cost 1 million dollars just to apply for residency and if you don't get accepted you loose you million dollar 'deposit'. Michale Jackson didn't even get accepted here! Again it's very flash, more expensive yaughts and cars to oogle at, lots of beautiful people and the famous Monte Carlo Casino, it's the one that James bond is filmed in! It's a magnificent building, the play ing area is only small though, only a few tables. I saw more first five hundred euro bill here a man had a wad of them and just casually threw down, and lost 1000 euros. A few of the group had some bets, one guy left 200 euro richer! The casino is right on the water we went exploring it has a maxing views and verandas. We spent the day dreaming what it would be like. For lunch we went to McDonalds for a four euro happy meal. Hahah back to reality.
That night we went to find the famous 100 flavor gelato store, they had coke, becardi, and even avocado flavor!! There was a street dance group and the square was full of people joining in, we had just finished a bottle of wine so I was in amongst it! It was an absolute ball, acting like an idiot with about one hundred other people. A few of us stayed out, had some free champagne, watched a band at the travelers bar and danced the night away! It was a really great night.
I paid for it the next day and consequently spent the day recovering I Nices beach. It's a pebble beach unfortunately so it wasn't the most comfortable way to recover. The pebbles are big and flat and light grey it's actually really pretty! The water was a gorgeous light blue due to the extra salt and the light coloured pebbles!
For the rest of the day I walked around the old town, down little streets past cute shops and former restaurants. Now we are going for dinner and drinks. We plan to head south a little to cannes tomoro to check out some more of France!
