Cinque terre! It is amazing. The coast line is beautiful, the water is warm and clear, the sun is always out and the locals are friendly! Cinque terre translates literally to five villages, so it is made up of five similar villages dotted along the cliffy coastline. They are small towns, some only made up of a few little shops and locals homes. But they are stunning. Each house is painted a different colour. The wives did this in the past because their sailor husbands would come home drunk and just sleep in any house they could find because they couldn't find their own. So the wives solved this by making each house easily distinguishable. Its really cool to see!
We have a really good group of people here! The main group I'm with are two couples from Culburra. The town my cousins are from and infact one of the boys lives straight across the road from my aunty! Such a small world! We have found a little hang out on the rocks and we spend most of our time
Swimming, snorkelling and lying around. We have travelled to the other villages to check them out and have watched the sunset from the cliff side. It's been really magical. Most nights we all head to the mini market buy some drinks and find a little cliff away from town to drink and hang out. It's so warm at night we all end up staying up until early hours of the morning.
We want to hire a boat in the next day or two and travel up the coast to see the villages from out to sea! Can't wait!!
I'm meant to be meeting up with some old friends from Rimini. An old co-worker and some guest who we made good friends with! I'm hoping our timings all work out so they will be here to spend the last day with me in this amazing Italian paradise!
