Finished my four nights in cinque terre with a pretty good one! I loved it in this little Italian village it was a good break from sight seeing and a good chance to make some new friends for the next few legs of the trip.
I met a whole bunch of Aussies off busabout who became my family in cinque. We spent our days hiking between the villages, swimming snorkeling and sun baking on our little cliff side. And at night we would all meet for dinner of takeaway on the rocks and drink and talk the night away. We had a massive group so it was really fun and never a dull moment.
I had winged my accommodation night by night so I was never sure where I would be sleeping. On the last night they had no room for me at the hostel. Thankfully some of my friends set me up a trundle bed in their room. So I ended up having a free nights accommodation, which is awsome when a single night in the village cost 30 euros; which is most of my daily budget!
I was able to eat cheaply here though so didn't spend much money at all... Apart from that spent on alcohol. I went out for breakfast with a boy whom I'd only known for a few days, but felt like a lifetime. He was leaving busabout to head home so he took me out for some crepes! Was really nice, and I think could be my first breakfast out all trip! People have been so kind and generous to me this leg of the trip. It's nice to have such kind people around you. I'm excited for this next part of the trip.
Our last night in our little village was fun, we had a big dinner at our look and then started drinking. Previous nights had been pretty causal and tame but the last night got hilarious!! And ended with, tunnel ball, being attacked with balls of toilet paper, shots of Jager, everyone swimming and a mild concussion. The ramp to the water was really slippery, we had been entertained by people slipping on for days and somehow the boys forgot this in their drunken stage and I saw some of the best stacks and injuries I had seen on that ramp!!
This morning I got up and took some photos of village from the rocks, like those seen on post cards, had a nice breakfast and packed myself a cheap and delicious lunch for the bus. Now we have overtaken the back half of our busabout bus as we head over the border from Italy to France, heading to Nice!
