Instead of spending our normal 8 hours at work this Saturday, the Boeing employees organized a community outreach activity in a local community children's park that was affected by the 11/28/2012 tornado that hit the town next to us, Taranto, Italy.

About 50 of us gathered Saturday morning to remove debris and clean up a community's park and playground. The trees had been removed but there was debris that we piled and raked up, a big truck with a grappling arm made short work of our piles. The building in the center of the park was damaged so we cleaned up the glass and removed all the debris from the roof. About a third of the wall that ran along the sidewalk had fallen oven onto the side walk. There was a man in a little mini tractor that we helped fill up. As we worked on clearing the sidewalk, some ladies carrying their shopping home, thanked us.

Sunday night we are have our company holiday dinner, a nice reward for our efforts today.
