This morning we had a very relaxing morning. We started the day swimming, sleeping and relaxing in the hotel, we had a big buffet breakfast before some of us headed into town to the tailors to pick and choose some clothes to get tailor made, while the rest stayed relaxing at the hotel. At 10am everyone met in the city and had an hour look around. We then gathered up again and boarded a boat on the river and started the river cruise, we got about 2 minutes into it before finding out we were on the wrong boat and headed back to change boats! We then got on the right boat and started the river cruise again. It was very relaxing, listening to party music, relaxing in the sun, while cruising down the river and looking around at the sights.
After our boat cruise we headed off on a wee walk through the city to see the Japanese bridges. After that we walked in 35 degree heat to a restaurant where we enjoyed a nice set menu lunch with plenty of new things to try, comfy seats and, most importantly, air conditioning to relax in.
After lunch we boarded the bus to head to My Sòn (holy land of the ancient Cham people). We got on golf cart like vehicles and headed through the jungle where we stopped and walked through the paths to see what was left of the holy temple and see the bomb craters from the war. Once our walk through the jungle was over we headed back into Hoian.
When we got back into the city, those that got things tailor made had to go back to get things fitted again to make sure what they wanted was just right, while others headed around the city or back to the shops for free time. Later on in the night the bus took us all back to the hotel where we had free time again to explore and get dinner locally. Lots of us swum in the pool, while others went for a walk around the streets. Before bed the tailors came back to the hotel to fit things and drop off finished products. Then it was time for bed for another early start to move onto our next destination tomorrow, the ancient city of Hue.
