Landed in Singapore and have been transfered to the Hotel Jen Singapore. The service here is awesome.
Both Pat and I are still not well, still ave the flu. I am finding it hard to breath in the humidity outside the hotel or just moving around.
We are staying on orchard road which is the main shopping avenue, we have been told if we turned left after leaving the hotel the prices rise, shops like Gucci but if you turn right the prices go down. I went into one shop and found a really lovely purse, Pat nearly had a heart attack when he saw the price of $1300.00 his face was so shocked.... needless to say I was only allowed to window shop. Later we went to the right where the prices were well into our price range. But a strange thing seems to be happening.. Pat always seems to be between me and the open shop door....mmm he wouldn't be trying to stop me from buying would he... nah?
If you take the elevators to the bottom floor you end up in a massive under ground shopping precinct, absolutely awesome.
The public train system here is so easy to use, Pat and I went out to the Singapore Flyer (a single car can take an amazing amount of people). After taking a look around the area we went to buy tickets for the flyer and they closed the office just as we got to the window. A bad storm has started and the winds are too high.they are not opening again that day.
Walking back to the hotel we saw a small store front selling tyres. At home it would be a big building with 2 or 3 bays for the cars to drive for new tyres to be fitted. Here there is a high end sports car (Lamborgni class) sitting up on 4 jacks in a single parking space out in the street and the guys were replacing the tyres. No way would that be allowed to happen in Australia even if they wanted to.
We have decided to go down to a little take away chicken place that seemed really busy and have tea. You can't go wrong with chicken and chips right? Well at home maybe not but here,oh boy big mistake. The chips were made of seaweed and the chicken was deep fried and covered in pure spice. Not good on a bad flu stomach. Heartburn, indigestion & hot butt syndrome. Bad news as we are flying out tomorrow.
