On May 28th, Paul flew down to Perth to check out the car that he and old friend Andrew had purchased through a colleague (sight unseen) for $1000. Thankfully, the car turned out to be a real trooper, only needed a bit of oil, new tyres, and a few bolts here and there, plus a bit of a paint job to decorate it in the team colours of "Team s***box Jellyfish". A few more Broome shots from various places around town. It's Matilda's birthday today so NO SCHOOL WORK! Walk along the beach, pancakes, mango smoothie, boogie board later and out for dinner. A hard day for an 8 year old. The new watch we'd brought from Melbourne and hidden has been a hit - except she also wants a pony! Luckily she's quite good at saving up so perhaps when she turns 14.

Today we saw a caterpillar train. I think in each train there were about 20 caterpillars. They are the larvae of the Bag Shelter Moth. They eat the leaves of wattle trees. They are dark brown with long white hairs, and lay a trail of silk. by Matilda.

It's been quite nice to settle into a daily routine for a change rather than packing up and moving on frequently. We've had a walk on the beach early most mornings - have seen really low tides, and very high tides over the last week - and then had a few hours of solid school work by the girls online using Mathletics, Literacy Planet, reading some books, and Matilda writing in her journal and posting it into the blog.
