We'd booked the "Limousine Bus" from the Hilton Tokyo Bay rather than fluffing around with several trains - only took just over an hour on the freeway. Thankfully the 10 hour flight home was reasonably straightforward and smooth. I had ordered some kids meals (pasta x 2) and brought some rice snacks at the airport, so no one went hungry. T…

Our last day in Tokyo today - the rain even managed to stay away finally! Humid and 29 Degrees. We had a leisurely morning with a walk along the breakwater and swim in the inside pool (the hug…
We hadn't had time to visit the port area of Odaiba on our last visit to Tokyo, so we hopped on various modes of transport to make our way across the other side of Tokyo Bay to see the Maraika…
Theme Parks have never been top of my list of places to visit. The thought of hordes of people, queuing endlessly for rides, plastic food etc always sends a shiver through me ... however, when…

can't work out if my tears are from the sadness of coming to the end of a great vicarious adventure or joy at the richness of the great memories you;ve created together! Congratulations to you all for making the dream a reality and for the challenge to go out and do likewise. May your re entry to the realm of Melbourne suburbia be gentle.

Hello! Hope you made the big drive home safely. What a great and memorable journey you've had, and we so enjoyed sharing some of it with you. Are you going to put the pics into a book? I'm hoping to, can't wait to look through it on a regular basis. Hopefully will catch up with you all in November but will text you closer to the time. xxx

Hi guys. By now you are probably half way across the Nullabor and have home in your sights. Loved reading your blogs from WA. It's an area that will be on our "to do" list for another trip one day. Swimming with the whale sharks would have been an amazing experience-sounded fantastic, as did all the other places you visited.
We have just left Umina (40 km north of Sydney) this morning and will drive the 750km all the way home to Yarrawonga today. It is a bittersweet feeling-it will be nice to be home in our own beds but I have a sense of dread that our wonderful holiday experiences have come to an end. Some absolutely amazing memories and experiences to draw on though and it has certainly been a family holiday that will be etched in all of our minds forever. I'm sure you will agree.
We are so grateful to have camped next to you at Wilpena Pound and shared some of these great times with you along the way. It was fun!!
Safe travels for the rest of your journey and good luck with getting back to "normality" when you return.
Amanda, Ash, Will , Chloe and Mia :)

Hi Matilda! Excellent work catching a squid! Did it squirt out any ink when you caught it? All the ones that my brother in law catches always squirt black ink all over his kayak when they are caught! Very very messy - but the squid tastes yummy. How funny that it's called calamari and not squid when you cook it up! Love the great photos. Very jealous of your great adventures.
