Alright everyone I survived the jungle! Was crazy stuff! We left early Monday morning which got off to a funny start as we had a flat battery, they looked round and said anyone know how to fix, so I looked round too but they knew what I did for a job so pushed me to the front and said "fix", luckily just a flat battery so got jump leads from another motor and was all cushty! We drove for about 4 hours to the mountains, which took us to a rangers park where they had AK47's and other machine guns, they were just chilling and cleaning them and filling they're mags with big ass bullets, I asked what they need them big guns for and nicki our leader said tigers and left us hangin for 5 mins till she came clean and said "haha noo tiger", thank god. Then we had to get a 4x4 truck to take us the rest of the way which was near on vertical sand dunes at some points, after an hour the ranger dropped us off where we had a 3 hour walk up Tapernkee waterfall in the jungle, some amazing scenes! After only 30 mins in the ranger shouted and waived his machete and we see a snake which was at least 7 foot no joke prob bigger and was as thick as my fore arm but was too fast to get a photo, we all gave out a few swear words in our own languages and looked at each other and laughed and said "THAILAND!". The first half hour your all jittery and if a leaf touched your leg you'd jump around like a loon shouting and doin kungfu kicks in the air but after a while you just relax and enjoy the experience. When we got to the top of the waterfall we set our tents up and got on the whisky. We only had a few beers with us as there's no fridges in the jungle, I no I couldn't believe it either, so we had whisky and ice, the villagers traveled miles everyday to get us ice for the evening haha bless them. One day we trekked up a mountain to see a bangin veiw point, it only took about an hour and half to get up but Jesus it was steep and after only 20 mins I was near on collapsed on a rock just dripping and whimpering but I wasn't the only one so was all good. When we got to the top it was sheer relief and a good time to get some amazing photos. We went trekking another day to go into some deep deep and dark caves full of bats and spiders bigger than my hand I kid you not, but weirdly it wasn't scary tho was just amazing. Some of the cracks in the rocks we had to climb in was the size of my chest so had to breath out just to squeeze in! At night we just layed on out on our bed mats and drank whisky listening to tunes under the stars which was a superb experience. One night we was all looking at the moon when a bright shooting star flew under it which was decent and some people were realy buzzed where they haven't seen one before. Last night we sat drinking watching a big forest fire up in the mountain that we trekked the day before, it was miles away from our tent but where it was so quiet you could hear it crackling and popping, was mesmerising. Today were made our way to a cushty hotel with hot water and cold beer, it's bliss, we only did jungle for bout 3 full days but felt like we been away from things longer. Just about to get a massage for me hard work surviving on whisky and mushrooms and noodle, then get showered up and out for dinner, gagging for a cold beer! I'll add photos to show you, hope everyone's ok in sholing, and a shout out to a few fareham people too, oh and totton ha, speak soon, craigo guitar hero
