After a good night on the ferry we arrived in Holland at about 8 am on Tuesday the 11th. The traffic from the port to Rotterdam was just like a constant M25, bloody busy. Masses of HG’s. In the boredom of traffic jams we decided on names, the camper is christened Constance (Connie the camper) and the Satnav is Sally (after Sally traffic on BBC Radio 2)
Passed into Germany without really noticing at lunch time and the traffic continued.
We’d been unable to contact the campsite we wanted to stay in near Hamburg and so thought we’d better try another in case it was full. So we arrived at Gyham hoping they’d have space. As the photo shows, we had the place to ourselves!
Connie is doing really well, keeping up with the traffic and giving about 38 mpg. Not quite as quick as the BMW’s and Audi’s on the autobahns but we’ve got plenty of time. Cx Vx>
