Hi Michaela and Joel! Thank you for sharing your journeys with all of us. I am amazed by your strength and your generosity. I love reading about your experiences and relish in your ponderings about our sheltered view of the world. It breaks my heart hearing about these children and the lives that they are living, when I see so many kids (and adults!!) here taking their lives for granted and always wanting more. You are inspiring and a bright thought in my day as you are living your dream and are making a difference in the lives of so many souls. If only everyone could see and hear all the beauty that life has to offer!
Anyway, there was my mushy rant, but thanks again and I look forward to reading more about your travels!! love to you both! xo!

Hello Michaela and Joel! I just got some time to look at your website. Great pictures! I sure hope you're enjoying yourselves as much as you're making other people enjoy you. You probably do not know, but my son Mathias was born on march 6. He's a lanky little thing, (almost) always smiling. Marianne is getting bigger by the minute and slowly begins to talk. Her favorite word just now is "ballon". Kareen began her PhD with some summer reading. She's tired, but should make it through! Cheers, and good luck!
Philippe, for Kareen, Marianne and Mathias

Hi Guys,
good to talk on the weekend. Looking forward to seeing pics of your stay in Kruger!! i am really starting to relax and enjoy the nice weather. gram selig will be 84 on july 15. I was visiting yesterday and they are doing well but it is a day to day thing with them, but not to worry as they are generally well. Miriam has a b'day on the 12th, Liana on the 17th, Lauren on the 19th and Nicole on the 14th. my stress level is down and so is my blood pressure, yahoo!!! Ang is doing well and has basically decided to stay in the house, hopefully with Scotia. She will be fine, eventually. Nic is tired but taking life in stride. I talked with her and Lauren this am and hving the two all by herself is very tiring. She needs to get out and get some exercise and get her energy levels back up. All others things here are good and I trust things are going well with you two. take care, Love,Dad xxoo

Hey you two!
I had a great time "catching up" with you via your latest updates. That's great news about Mofihli and Maletsasti! I've got photos of my guys up everywhere - Relebo and Lehlilika watch me in my car, my bedroom...!
I'm glad you're off for some "you" time in South Africa - although I'm not surprised to hear that you're hanging out with AIDS patients and kids. Even the "you" time that you spend will undoubtedly benefit someone else! You're great!
I hope that you enjoyed the month at Thaba Tseka, sounds like it really became home. I'm missing both Mahlekefane and TT like crazy, it's gotten worse in the weeks that have passed. At first, I was so busy here - visiting with family and friends, supply teaching (two days after coming home!), but now things have wound down, and I'm homesick for Lesotho. Crazy, considering how ready I was to come home by the end of it. Can't wait to get back, though!
I got a job for the fall - the one I thought I was up for. I'm going to be teaching Grade 7-8 Special Ed and I'm so excited.
Anyway, it's a thrill to read your postings and I'm so happy to hear that things got even better (?) for you in your time with Joy!
Last week, I went to the reception for the Lesotho High Commissioner, saw Peg, Carolyn, Cliff, Mel, Donna, Penney...the usual suspects. It was great and Peg and the HC were featured in the Social pages of the Citizen after! Hilarious. Looks like I'm helping with a new volunteer training session in a couple weeks - I have LOADS to say. I've been working on my report and comments about the program, hope you are too!
Keep enjoying yourselves and I'll keep checking the site!
Peace,
Your one-time travelling companion,
Shauna Pollock

Hey you 2, it was so good to have you stay at O.P. and thank you for caring and sharing... The kids have been asking about you - and especially Dimpho wanted to know... So, you are remembered (all ready). Well, ENJOY... and please do remember the 96% "good" discussion.
Remember, you now have a "home away from home".
Take care and again HAVE FUN...

I arrived home about 7 p.m. tonight. the trip was a good one, but there was the Air Canada delay in Toronto as per usual. I hardly slept on my journey, but that is ok. I hope you are sleeping well in room 75 as I write this. Again, I want to thank you both for sharing part of your amazing journey with me. I know it was hard for all of us, but it means a great deal to me and I see it as a landmark in my life. When my brain unscrambles i will be in touch. I love you both dearly and pray you are safe and happy each day. xxoo ma

Wow! Each postcard seems more and more intense. It seems so unreal, the things you are experiencing. We really have no idea how great our lives are, do we? So glad you guys are taking the time and effort to update us all here at home. Not much new this week- lastnight was Mackenzie's prom, and me, mom and sarah followed him and his friends around like Papparazzi. It was great. Tomorrow night is graduation. Hard to believe. Hope you have a warmer week!!

Hi Guys,
It is shortly after 1 am where you are and I will try to call early in my morning...about 7 am, Thursday.
Welcome back from an incedible experience. If anyone out there reading this, has not gone through the post cards, please do. They should make an impact on us all, especially when we consider how blessed we are!! Thank you Caley and Joel for helping to open our eyes. Maybe we will see a way to help some of the people you have met! Two days of school left! I have a totally new job assignment, and it is a new position created by the Dept of ED and during the summer I have to help design the program. I am excited abt the possibilities. Other news will be by phone tomorrow. Love you and miss you both. Hi Joy!
Love,
Dad/Greg
