FREMANTLE PRISON VISIT- it has closed dont worr. We weren't locked up! Fremantle opened when we sent our convicts over due to lack of cells in 1850..this prison closed in 1991! Only 17 years ago when it closed there still wasn't any plumbing so buckets were used as bathroom facilities. Fremantle could hold up to 500 prisoners, part of it was built by them whilst serving time using the limestone which they had to dig. It is the only surviving intact convict bui...

So.. we left Graeme and Ivy in Karratha and were ready to' ride the dog' again. Another 22 hr ride on the Greyhound.. OR NOT! So if you are regular readers you may have noticed that wherever we go rain follows! that is if it isnt a cyclone. ..so 4 hrs into our bus ride back to Perth we got delayed due to floods.. the lakes/rivers banks had burst and the roads were completely hidden with water, most closed! So this added.. wait for it... 7 HRS TO OUR JOURNEY!! ...

After a few days in Karratha chilling out, going to the swimming pool and eating gorgeous food it was time for our camping trip. Not before a good night out on the Bundy and coke first! We started in the Tambrey centre which is kind of a cross between butlins and an airport lounge ...this is where we met up with Mike and efong who we had been out to dinner with a few nights ago. They are a really lovely couple and mike works for the same company as Jayne's broth...

so we wake up the next day and after walking into the city and looking around we decide that it would be a better idea to visit Jayne's brother Graeme in Karratha first and then come back to Perth to do some sight-seeing! We booked the greyhound bus.. 22hrs ...22 HOURS!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH .that will definately be an experience.. we looked at flights but it was too expensive so that was our only choice.. . 9.30am the following day we jumped aboard the greyhound.. ...

So after a few more days in Chirstchurch we left for Australia..We were both very sad to leave new zealand.. mainly because we absolutely loved the place and it also reminded us there was another part of our trip over..!
