We got the bus to Avalon airport... well not much of an airport..and as we checked in discovered a delayed of 2 hours on our flight.. great! The flight is only 1hr and 15mins..oh well, we could be on the Greyhound! ahhhhhhhhh!
So we finally board our Jetstar plane to Sydney after Lisa has a little kip on the airport floor.. much to Jayne's embarrassment (as we all know Lisa has no shame!)..
Very short flight which we slept the whole way through. Arrived in sydney and made our way to our hostel 'Wake Up' which is right in the heart of the city. We checked in and found our dorm by 6.30pm and were supposed to be meeting Chris and Chris in Bondi for a night out..! their 'last night' AGAIN! ...teehee...
Introduced oursleves to our new roomies and got ready to go. Eating a KFC on the train to Bondi Lisa nearly had a fit.. why??!! i hear you all asking?? WHY!! because just as she was about to take a lovely bite from her zinger tower burger Jayne shouted stop!.. there was a massive pineapple ring in the middle! PINEAPPLE.. are you joking! what is that!!! hahaha.. most of you will know Lisa's issues with pineapple on savoury food and if you dont..this is like her worst nightmare! teehee.. After swifly picking that out and finishing our meals we were at our train stop. Met the lads in "The Shack' which was their hostel bar. We all had a great night and ended up going to the famous bar at Bondi Hotel. Said good bye to the lads who live in St Albans..so we are sure there will be a drunken nite out with them when we arrive home!
The next day we met up with our buddy Liam who we were on the Kiwi Experience with.. He is our skinny Peter Kay!! He took us to Darling Harbour and to Paddy's market (but it was closed!) That evening was spent with our roomie Christina in Side Bar below Wake Up!.. The following day we were looking into and booking our future adventures including.. a 2 day trip to the Blue Mountains, Greyhound bus pass and our Bridge Climb!
Then it was 'on' for Liam's last night before he begins his way up the east coast! So he came to meet us and Christina and we took a cab to Kings Cross which is where he had been staying. We went to Empire which was great.. lots of dancing and good times!
The next evening we did our Bridge Climb! well... it was amazing.. we chose to do the night climb as you get a free pass to the tower where we can take daytime photos too.. So we feel like we got the best of both worlds! It was incredible standing at the top of the bridge and looking at the city lit up.. it was beautiful! well worth every penny! When we got home we stayed in chatting to yet another Chris (seriously - no imagination with names around 23 yrs ago) from our dorm.
We spent today at Darling Harbour and we also went to the Chinese Garden of Friendship..it was lovely to be in such a tranquil place which strangely in in the heart of Sydney! we really enjoyed walking aound and chilling in the grounds!
enjoy the pics..x
