Lake Taupo is known for is extreme sports but it is especially popular for Skydiving. We had decided to brave it and booked to do a Skydive over the lake. We had arranged to get together with Aaron and Rory - Kiwi's that we met in Singapore - as they lived in Paekakariki and Raumati Beach two small suburbs of Wellington. They flew in from cambodia that afternoon and we drove to theirs in the evening. We were treated to a BBQ at Rory's and then another at Aarons the following day before heading out into Wellington for a night on the tiles. Once we were off the Ferry we drove to the Te Papa museum in Wellington which had lots of interesting Maori exhibitions. After spending an hour looking round we then decided to experience the shopping in Wellington - we thought it would be a shame not to. We then drove to our campsite for the night in Lower Hutt just a short drive from Wellington.

Next stop Picton. We had booked the ferry to take us over to the North Island on Sunday so we started our drive from Christchurch and stopped in Kaikoura on the way. Unfortunately we didn't have much time so it was just a quick pit stop before making our way to our campsite in Picton. Got the ferry the following lunchtime and landed in Wellington later that afternoon.

Had a long bus journey back up to Chrsitchurch on Friday morning aleady to pick up our campervan the following morning - yes the Kiwi's better watch out we about to take to raod!
