We left Detroit Lakes around 8 am and within an hour we were in Fargo, North Dakota. We were not able to find the famous wood chipper from the movie Fargo. We did find a Walmart and were able to get some groceries.
We have managed to avoid the Interstate roads until now. We got onto I94 and we were immediately being blown all over the place - due in part to the windy conditions but also the numerous transports passing at a higher speed. We headed further north on a smaller road which was quite deserted and much more scenic.
The eastern part of the state was very flat and reminded us of the prairies with lots of wheat and sunflower crops. There were also numerous cattle farms. About three-quarters of the way through the state, the now rolling hills were getting much bigger as we travelled into the Badlands of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This will be our home for the next couple days. We are staying at the Red Trail Campground where we are treated to the beautiful views of the Badlands from our trailer.

Dad and Elaine looks like you are having an amazing trip so far. The lunar eclipse was amazing here too. Have fun. Will keep checking for updates.
