After another thirteen hour journey and it was pretty terrible due to late buses, very unorganised coach and missing my shuttle to the hotel. It was by far the worst journey yet but I got there in the end.
We all met up in the morning our tour guide was called Dameon, he reminded us all of Seth Rogan. We all had to introduce ourselves etc which is always a bit cringy. Our first stop was San Diego where we would meet up with another Trek America that were doing a three week tour to New York. That night we all went out for a few drinks to this bar that had three guys that would rotate playing the piano and other instruments, they were so funny and entertaining. The next bar we went to had a mechanical bull. I really wanted to go on it but had to pay five dollars a go which I though was ridiculous so I gave that a miss. We headed back quite early because the next day we had was going to be a long one.
We went to San Diego zoo in the morning. I had heard this was the best zoo in America. It was amazing all of the enclosures were so well planned out. Only a select few were behind glass or fencing but the majority just had a slight wall and you felt like you could touch them, I loved it. From the zoo Dameon took us to Pacific beach. It was what I'd picture a typical American beech to look like it had a path right at the back and which everyone was rollerblading, skate boarding, cycling and running down. Myself and two of the other girls (sisters Sherida and Phoebe) from the tour wanted to hire rollerblades. We finally found a shop that hired them out and well let's just say they weren't the safest things in the world but, hay. When I put them on it was the most unnatural thing ever all of us looked like Bambi on ice. We finally got to the path on the beach but not before Phoebe had fallen over twice and the second time saying that she just wanted to give them back and get a bike, Sherida and I persuaded her not to so we went on. After about five minutes Sherida and I had picked up the rhythm and were doing much better. Phoebe was getting it just a bit slower but she was so happy she didn't give them back. As we made our way back to the hire place Phoebe went down again taking out someone on a segway. The way back there was a slope that went straight towards the road and our brakes weren't great so I went down holding on as and when I could. Sherida went down and as she started liking up speed she started to panic and went into someone's garden to stop but as she did because there was bark on the floor she superman'd through the air and landed on her front it was the funniest thing I had ever seen, she was fine. We crossed the road and as I went up the curb I slipped and fell straight on my arse. We were all doing so well and by the end of it we all had a fall. I was so happy we hired them and had so much fun. I nearly didn't because it felt so unnatural and I didn't think I'd be able to do it.
The day when we arrived innSan Diego I saw a bar that done alcoholic slush puppies and I really wanted to go to it. When we got back from the beach I really wanted to go but I was so tired and hungry I just couldn't be bothered in the end. I got another early night ready to start the next park of the tour in the morning.
