Goa...state of sunshine, beaches and Russians.
Anita said that last time in Goa all the signs were for the Israelis but the Goan tourist industry has swiftly moved on with the the language after English being Russian.
Goa was the down time point in our trip. At this point , the E coli caught up with Chez and I necessitating a li-lo period of time. Apparently there were SOME sights to see but we mainly settled down for a few days of beach and bar exploration (anything that was close to a bathroom).
New Years Eve was spent trying to work out where to go that did NOT have trance music - a hard ask in Goa. We were pointed in the direction of Anjuna by some friendly Frenchies. As usual there was the gathering of young Indian men trying to get in, but needed the help of some women so they could pay the 'couple' entry and not the 'stag' which was more expensive. Being the warm hearted, generous girls that we are we could not help but say yes when approached by 2 young men (they offered to pay for us). They turned out to be great fun and a blast on the dancefloor and we were surprised to learn later in the evening that one of them was part of the Royal family of Hyderabad. So we saw the new years in with a prince as an escort. Anita and I were very ready to sacrifice Cheree to the Royal family of Hyderabad in exchange for some emeralds and rubies. She was not so sure so we executed a swift exit stage left of the toilets at 5am and headed back to our hotel.
