Arrived in Townsville on Tuesday (we think!). Had a good hostel with an Ensuite bathroom which was very exciting! It even had soap in it!! Anyhow, on our first day we had a potter round the city. Quite an odd place - a big city but with a small town feel, quite olde worlde. For the two days we were there the town was completely dead, quite strange really. After pottering we went to another aqaurium. Had the most boring tour ever, we were told it was a tour about the reefs most deadliest animals. It was actually a tour with a man talking mainly about cones - we did learn his favourite phrase (said in dodgy ozzy accent) "Remember guys, out on the reef, if it's a cone, leave it alone!" Not one mention of all the killer sharks - stupid man. We quickly scarpered from him to see the turtle feeding tour. The aquarium took in ill turtles then released them when they were all better - they were very cute. One had a skin pigment problem and was white - they said he wouldn't survive in the wild as he stood out too much to predators. They named him minty - we preffered to call him Micheal (after Micheal Jackson - see if you can figure out why!). That night was Pot Noodle night - we had a TV in our room so proceeded to watch all the classics - don't worry we won't spoil Neighbours for ya! Next day we wandered up The Strand, took in all the lovely sites and had Fish and Chips for lunch - Jim asked for a couple of Ketchups to go with his Chips - they gave him two massive pot fulls - seriously they were HUGE! Even Jim couldn't dent them! That night was Subway night - Ham and Cheese if you're interested (as you can see there isn't much to say about Townsville!) but we like to give you fans something to read! We also had some salt and vinegar crisps and a cookie.
