So I arrive into a wet, rainy Taupo and stop off at the bunji jump site! Omg I wish I had the guts to do it. It was a cliff facing jump down into lake Taupo. So instead if jumping I decide to head 4km out to huka falls and take a speed boat ride instead. What great fun! They take you right up to the falls and include spins, turns etc. It's very fast and a great adrenalin feeling. I met an English couple who were actually from St Albans which was great. The falls themselves were spectacular and the pictures just didn't do it any justice!
It was then off to Lake Taupo and a boat ride out to see the Maori Rick carvings. These were beautiful. A visit then to a volcanic and earth quake museum!! I love all that kind of stuff...learnt about the volcanic eruption of lake Taupo and the 2010 earthquake which hit Chrustchurch. I made a brief visit to some glass blowing which was interesting, but have to admit, I got a bit bored!!!! So headed if for a spa & relaxation.... I loved it. Could quite settle in this area!!!!
