So my post today comes from Mount Maunganui and my tent!!!! Yes I have adventured out and have just got back from the pub, to my snug 2 man tent!! But I am alone before you all ask..
So today before I arrived here, I took a drive from my detour night stop over at Rotorua to Lake Tikitapu and Lake Rotokakahi. These two lakes sit side by side and one is blue and the other is green. The green one is Tapu (sacred) and no one is allowed to swim or go into!!! Lovely views. The blue one is used for all kinds of water sports and a busy place.
I then had a right experience trying to fill the car with fuel!!! Took me about half an hour to realise it was a pre-paid station, but at 70p a litre, I wasn't complaining. A visit to the shopping mall to buy an air bed, pump, pillows & duvet( I have to camp in luxury) all of which cost me $48 nzd( £24) was my next stop and then to the camp site on the beach. After having lessons in how to erect a tent, it was a quick wash and lippy and off to the pub for a few swift halves of Devils creek... A very nice beer and some chilli nachos....So now while I lay here listening to the sea... I bid you good night & happy Valentine's Day
