Day 17, 4th February
Got the bus from Phnom Penh to our second stopped Siem Reap today another 6 hour bus trip, shocker.... this time it seemed to take longer as the driver seemed to stop every half hour to let people on and off including a monk! It's funny every now and again you see monks on the backs of motorbike taxi's (i'm sure there's a punch line there somewhere...)
Again we weren't dropped off to the centre so we had to get a tuk tuk as normal things don't just happen easily for us and the first driver wouldn't take us for the agreed $1 unless we agreed for him to be our driver for the next day...he wasn't getting that we didn't have a hotel so even if we wanted to book him we couldn't tell him where to pick us up from! So we pilled off of his tuk tuk and onto another this time the guy spoke good english and we were soon on our way. That was until Mel yelled at him to stop as she'd dropped her book. The poor tuk tuk man got off the bike and started running down the road to pick it up for her (you really had to be there but it was sooo funny we were nearly in tears with laughter).
When we got near Pub Street he said that a lot of the guest houses were full and offered to help us look but we thought he was blagging to get us to go to one he got a comission to recommend.....but after going in a few we thought he might be telling the truth lol.
Again we stopped to ask other travellers and followed them to the guest house they were staying in after we booked in we went out to get some food on Pub Street with all the lights it kinda remined me of Ayia Napa ha ha. So many bars and resturants to choose from even got a free drink from the owner of the irish bar Molly Malone's.
Day 18, 5th February
Today we had a chill out day got a bacon butty for brekkie (not like my mum's but very nice) we booked out tour to see the Angkor Wat temple tomorrow and also had a Dr Fish massage we were rather proud of our negotiating skills as we got him down from $3 for 20 mins to $1 for an hour if we bought a drink from them haha. At first it's such a strange sensation and we were screetching a little lol when you get used to the fish nibbling though it's not too bad and you get super soft feet after. Think we will have to have another go before we leave Siem Reap.
As usual we had more food and more drink before what is supposed to be an early night ready for our sunrise trip to the temple tomorrow....but it's 10:30pm and were still here typing away!!
