Day 15, 2nd February

Our first proper day in Cambodia today so decided went for a wonder and to see what Phnom Penh has to offer we grabbed some breakfast along the river...american pancakes with syrup mmmm yum!

Everywhere you go here you can walk past any of the tuk tuk drivers without them saying hey you want tuk tuk lady lol Anywho we booked a trip to the Killing fields and prison for tomorrow. We were going to visit the Grand Palace but didn't get much further than the irish bar where we had more cocktails before heading off to find Happy Herbs Pizzaria the best pizza's in cambodia...lol

We were a bit tipsy but we think the pizza had the desired effect as we found everything after this really hillarious and straight after headed off for some chips and wedges lol Oh and it certainly helped us to get to sleep!!

Day 16, 3rd February

Today we did the killing fields and prison tour, not a very nice place to visit was really chilling I had goose bumps all the way round. The history of the fields are that the government party in 1976 captured and tortured false confessions out of people killing nearly 9000. At the first site they killed everyone pretty much straight away but when they were capturing more and more people they couldn't kill them all the same day so turned an old school into a prison. The pictures and the way the cells were made up looked hurrendous and i'm sure you don't even want to imagine what happened there. Only 7 people out of everyone captured actually survived!! Most of the people responsible have either died or been executed but some still remain in prison since 2001 awaiting sentencing.

After lunch we then decided to go to the grand palace but again we had to cover our knee's and shoulders thought i was gonna pass out at one point it was sooo hot. The palace was nice and painted gold as in Bangkok but was no where near as big or nice! We still got our monies worth though looking in the temples and taking lots of pic's.

Tonight we had our tea in a resturant where you can have a private dvd screening so we felt like VIP's having our drink and meals brought to us whilst watching Knight and Day and Wall Street 2.

Back at the hotel we had a bit of a row with the hotel as we still hadn't had a laundry back even though we were supposed to get it back 8pm the same day we put it in. I don't think the girls that were checking in at this point will be giving them there's to do lol. After half an hour of them checking cctv to find out if we did actually give it to them they finally found it thought at 1 point i was gonna have to wear my bikini bottoms as they had all my smalls haha.
