Day 19, 6th February
Got up at 4:30 this morning ready to be picked up by our tuk tuk driver taking us to see the sunrise over the Angkor Wat temple. Didn't sleep very well as we were clock watching so more tired than we should be. It was rather cold that early and we thought we were gonna end up with bugs in our teeth with the speed we were going.
We had to wait around as sunrise was at 6:45 but we got a good spot right infront of the temple so have some really good pic's... that is after the guy who had an exceptionally large head moved to another spot lol. It was a spectaular view and well worth the early start we were a tad surprised with how busy it was at that time in the morning people were evening cycling to see it.
We had the tuk tuk booked to see 5 temples but after seeing some in near enough every place we've been so far we were a tad templed out and only went to two, Ankor Wat the largest and Ta Prohm which is now ruins and amazingly have trees growing around the stone building... you will need to see the pic's to know what i mean but it was brilliant too see.
We did get a tad annoyed with the Chinese tourists....as they get in everyones pictures and take an age to take just 1 picture themselves (nothing new i guess but still they seem to be everywhere lol)
We got back around brunch time a little peckish grabbed some lunch and then started to investigate how we were gonna get to Bangkok/islands the flights were a tad over priced at $189 at the travel agents so we decided to go with the $7 bus journey that takes 8 hours!! We got chating to a couple who said it is easy enough to then get the train & ferry from Bangkok to any of the islands. So Kho Tao here we come tomorrow....yay finally sun, sea and sand!
After all the planning it was happy hour and found a bar doing cocktails at $1.50 soooo cheap of course we took advantage well would be rude not too lol. We got chatting to a Australian couple from Perth who were giving us tips on hiring a camper van to get around, aparently it's called Wicked vans and you get to spray paint it when your done....a tad strange but should be a giggle we've have plenty of practice with fake tan haha.
Have to pack tonight and then off to Happy Herbs Pizzaria again for tea don't think it's addictive but it would be rude to leave Cambodia without having another. Oh and of course i'm sure we'll have a few more Daquiri's before bed.
