Hi! We are now in Surfer's Paradise. Considering the really bad reviews this place has, it is a lot better than I imagined it to be. It does look a little like Miami, with its many sky scrapers painted in delightful shades of pastel pink and white. Apart from that its fine. The beach is ridiculously long and actually maintained to a very high standard - I dont think i saw any rubbish on it at all. The photo doesnt really show just how huge the waves were - these things were massive!! Unfortunately we didnt get the chance to go in the sea - we arrived a little late the night before and were heading off fairly early the next day to Brisbane. However, Matt and Jack stayed longer and informed us that the water wasnt too cold...but a little violent. I think on a few occasions they feared for their lives. Apart from that, it was super! Oh and the weather was great! Fingers crossed this will follow us up the coast!! Onto Brisbane!
